The way you start each day is incredibly important. Whether you’re a mom or work in an office, a writer, a small business owner or a teacher, what you do first thing in the morning matters.

As women we want to wake feeling rested, stress free and energized and these simple tips will help you balance your body from within – helping hydrate your body and lower your cortisol levels first thing in the morning.

Tip1.

At bedtime place a glass of filtered water next to your bed and before getting out of bed in the morning drink the whole glass of room temperature water (as easy as that!)

At night while you are sleeping your body becomes dehydrated, if you wake dehydrated and start your day like this your body can’t perform all of it’s proper functions which lead to adrenal fatigue, stress, constipation, toxic build up, imbalanced hormones and much more.

This tip has made such a difference to the way I wake up in the morning, just knowing that I am starting my day by hydrating my organs, kidneys and adrenals; creating energy, regulating stress and balancing my hormone levels already puts a spring in my step – I’ll drink to that anyday x

Tip 2.

Start your morning with a perfect balance of FAT, PROTEIN, FIBER and GREENS.

This power packed green superfood smoothie is one of my favourite morning smoothies.  Kelly LeVeque calls this combination the FAB 4 – the combination helps to level your blood sugar levels for longer, supports hormone production, micro biome proliferation and healthy body composition.

Tip 3.

Add warm water and lemon to your daily ritual

Sometime during your morning, before your next cup of coffee enjoy a mug of warm water and lemon. It’s such a simple tip with the greatest of benefits. You will be surprised once you start your body will want a mug everyday.

I love adding ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil and juice from ½ lemon to my warm water.

Some benefits:

1. Balances your PH
Lemons help alkaline our bodies, they are acidic on their own but once they enter your body they alkaline.

2. Helps with weight loss & aids digestion
Lemons are high in pectin fiber, which help fight hunger cravings and the warm water stimulates your gastrointestinal tract and peristalsis which helps your digestion.

3. Acts as a natural diuretic and clears your skin
Lemon juice helps flush your body of toxins by increasing the rate of urination in the body and the Vitamin C helps decrease wrinkles and purges toxins from the blood which helps keep skin clear.

Tip 4.

Body Brush

Using a body brush you increase blood circulation, exfoliate your skin and decrease cellulite.  You can either body brush before your morning shower or your evening bath.

Tip 5.

Coconut oil

I could go on and on about the benefits  and wonders of this easy beauty product.  It’s not only meant to be used in your kitchen but also as your favourite moisturiser.
